A Calm, Inclusive Website for an Amatsu Therapy Practice Across Two Locations in Ireland

Anam Amatsu is a therapy practice run by Muiríosa McCarthy, offering amatsu therapy for pain relief, injury recovery, and emotional wellbeing. Muiríosa works from two locations on different days of the week. The website needed to introduce people to amatsu therapy, show both locations clearly, and encourage anyone — regardless of gender or background — to reach out.

Goal:
To build a clean, welcoming website that introduced people to amatsu therapy and helped Muiríosa attract new clients across two practice locations. The site needed to educate visitors about what amatsu therapy is and how it could help them.

Approach:
We designed a neutral, welcoming site that avoided the pink and purple palette commonly used by competitors in the therapy space. Muiríosa works with all people — men, women, and everyone in between — and the design reflects that openness. Local SEO and Google schema were set up for both locations.

Result:
A fast, clear website that explained amatsu therapy in accessible terms, showcased both locations, and helped new clients find Muiríosa through local search. The site is currently offline but Muiríosa remains in practice.

The Client

Anam Amatsu is run by Muiríosa McCarthy, a qualified amatsu therapist who works from two locations in Ireland on different days of the week. Amatsu is a natural physical therapy that works with the body's structure and energy to reduce pain, support recovery from injury or illness, and promote emotional and physical wellbeing. Muiríosa came to DesignBurst through a referral from an existing client.

The Challenge

Most people have never heard of amatsu therapy. The website needed to educate visitors — explain what it is, who it helps, and what to expect — before they would consider booking. The site also needed to serve two practice locations clearly and appeal to a wide audience, including men, who are often underserved by therapy websites that lean heavily on feminine aesthetics.

Our Approach

1. Intentionally Inclusive Design Most competitors in the holistic therapy space use pink and purple palettes that tend to appeal predominantly to women. Muiríosa works with everyone. We chose a neutral, calm colour palette that felt welcoming to all.

2. Clear Education on Amatsu Therapy The site explains what amatsu therapy is, how it works, and who it can help — including people with pain, injury, mobility issues, and mental or emotional health challenges. This education is essential for a therapy that many people will not have encountered before.

3. Two Locations Clearly Presented Both practice locations are clearly shown with the days Muiríosa is available at each. Local SEO and Google schema were set up for both, helping local clients find her through maps and search.

4. Lead Capture Form A simple enquiry form makes it easy for visitors to reach out without needing to commit to a phone call — important for people who may feel nervous about trying a new therapy.

5. Blog for Updates and SEO A blog gives Muiríosa a place to share updates, therapy tips, and seasonal content — supporting both her SEO and her connection with clients over time.

The Design Solution

The finished site is calm, welcoming, and clearly educational. Amatsu therapy is explained in simple terms. Both locations are easy to find. The design is gender-neutral and open — reflecting Muiríosa's approach to her practice.

The Outcome

Anam Amatsu launched with a website that helped Muiríosa attract new clients across both locations through local search. The site is currently offline as the client took a break from their web hosting — but Muiríosa remains in practice. This project holds personal meaning — I have personally benefitted from amatsu therapy and was delighted to help more people discover it through this website.

"Anam Amatsu is a therapy practice run by Muiríosa McCarthy across two locations in Ireland. Amatsu therapy is a natural physical therapy that helps with pain, injury recovery, and emotional wellbeing. Many people have never heard of it — so the website had an important job to do.

We built a calm, educational site that explained amatsu therapy clearly and simply. The design is intentionally gender-neutral — most competitors use pink and purple palettes, but Muiríosa works with everyone. We wanted the site to feel welcoming to all.

Both practice locations are clearly shown with local SEO and Google schema set up for each one. A simple lead capture form makes it easy for new clients to reach out.
This project holds personal meaning for me. I have benefitted from amatsu therapy myself and was proud to help more people discover it through this website."
