About the Stripe Fee Calculator
What is Stripe?
Many businesses in Ireland use Stripe to process online payments. Stripe is a free payment gateway that connects your website to your bank. We recommend using Stripe for capturing online payments. We created this Stripe Fee Calculator tool to help you price your products. Stripe allows you accept in-store payments with Terminal. This card reader connects to your Stripe account and allows you to accept in-store payments.
When does Stripe charge fees?
Stripe fees occur on every transaction. This means that if somebody pays you via Stripe then they take a fee. This calculator will help you figure out how much to charge customers to negate this fee.
How much are Stripe Fees?
If you accept payments online you will pay 1.4% + € 0.25 per transaction for European cards. Irish businesses pay an extra 23% for VAT per transaction. Our tool takes VAT into consideration. For Non-European cards you will pay 2.9% + € 0.25 per transaction.
If you have a Stripe Terminal then you can take in-store payments from customers. With Terminal you will pay 1.4% + € 0.10 per transaction for European cards. This is cheaper than processing the payment via your online store. Irish businesses pay an extra 23% for VAT per transaction. Our tool takes VAT into consideration. For Non-European cards you will pay 2.9% + € 0.10 per in-store transaction.

For international cards we take your original invoice and calculate 2.9% + €0.25 + vat.
